I know I can go for minimalist makeup days. Less is sometimes okay and for someone who enjoys a good glam look, there are just days where I don’t have the time to spend an hour on my makeup, especially as a mom. If you are looking for tips on what make up products and makeup steps you should take for a minimalist makeup look and also cuts time in half every day- I got you! Take a look down below on what works for me that I know will work for you and also makeup steps you should avoid doing to save you significant of time!
Makeup tips for the minimalist
- Choose a lightweight BB cream // Try Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream 8-in-1 Skin Perfecter. They have two types, one with hydrating SPF and the other for acne prone skin. Regardless of the one you choose, they both conceals imperfections, minimizes the look of pores, hydrates and smooths, mattifies, and clarifies.
- Choose mascara // Sometimes, fake lashes are not it when you are in a rush or just keeping it simple. Definitely curl your lashes first for 30 seconds on each eye and then apply your favorite mascara. When I am going for a “minimalist” look, mascara, lightweight foundation, and a glossy lipstick or lip balm is just my go-to. There is something about adding length to your lashes that really changes the makeup game. The best mascara that seriously does wonders on my lashes is the L’OrĂ©al voluminous mascara. Just try it out and you’ll see what I am talking about.
- Spot imperfections with concealer // I have 1 go-to that I just know you will love – ELF Came concealer! This concealer is GOLDEN. The creamy formula allows a thick application for spotting imperfection and discoloration. I used to purchase the Makeup Revolution conceal and define concealer until I found this product.
- Apply a sheen lip balm // I love lip balms that hydrate my lips. Most lipsticks and lip mattes can be too drying and definitely isn’t my go-to as a “minimalist”. My go-to on a regular is Lano Banana Balm Sheen 3-in-1. It conditions the lip while giving your lips a lustre sheen and on top of that it is a lip protectant.
- Choose a hydrating product // I don’t know about you but sometimes I just need a good hydrating product and I am all set to go! Mario Badescu facial spray is the perfect product to refresh your makeup look, to quickly soothe dry skin, and is great to use anywhere anytime. It gives a dewy radiance glow and sometimes that is all I need for a quick minimalist look! That leads me to my last recommendation..
- Choose a radiant skin care product // Sometimes, I just want to have a natural simple glow look that makes me gives off a beautiful vibrant complexion. Need ideas on what radiant skin care product you should try?
- Choose a Versatile makeup product // This will cut your makeup routine down by half the time! Here are some great ideas on beauty products you probably already have at home now, that you can use in multiple ways.
- You can use your lipstick as blush. It works, just try it! Set it with a translucent powder.
- Apply highlighter in all high points of your face to add the perfect touch of glow and even use it as an eyeshadow. I use physician Formula shimmer strips all-in-one. This product is a highlighter, bronzer, blush, AND eyeshadow. It’s super compact and is easy for on-the-go.
- Use a bronzer as an eyeshadow! It’s the perfect go-to for a natural eyeshadow look. The physician formula butter bronzer is my favorite go-to!
Here are a few steps you may want to avoid if you want to achieve a minimalistic makeup look!
