If there is one thing I have learned while being in the makeup industry is that you have to have the right makeup tools to achieve that professional makeup artist look. After tons of trials and errors with pasts makeup tools, these 9 are a huge staple in my everyday makeup routine. Without having these essentials down below, my makeup wouldn’t be as flawless. Check out why I love these tools down below – maybe you’ll find one tool that you’ll like to try out yourself!
Essential Makeup Tools
- Juno & Co. Microfiber Velvet Sponge // This is not compared to the beauty blender we all know of. It does NOT soak up your foundation as much as a beauty blender would. While slightly damp, this applies liquid foundation effortlessly and seamlessly. I apply the foundation with my fingers in dots on my face and then use the velvet damp sponge to dab evenly throughout my face. I always love how airbrushed my face looks after using this tool!
- Powder pocket puff // This makes it easy to distribute powder to set the concealer and in place. It has a convenient pocket for your fingers to guide the beauty blender. We all need a tool to set the powder, and this tool is the one!
- Real Techniques mini sponges // I like to use these mini sponges on all of the small areas. These sponges are also useful to clean up any mistakes simply by dabbing onto the area and blend it into your foundation/concealer. I feel like every makeup lover should have a few tiny sponges handy to help conceal the hard to blend areas and to clean up minor mistakes.
- MODA Eye set // I had received this set from my glam Ipsy bag a few months ago. I use this set every day and I finally MASTERED the perfect cut crease because of the fine liner tool! Without these tools, I feel like my other brushes were not giving me the professional makeup artist look. It was only because I was not using the right quality tools. For $10.00 at your local Walmart, these eye tools are definitely worth the money! I attached a link with pastel colors that are just about the same as the one I currently have. I love the colors and it comes with a cute pouch!
- Morphe M439 Buffer Brush // I remembered when I was 18 years old I always wanted to buy this brush but at the time it was not in my budget. Fast forward to today, It’s a staple in my beauty collection. I use this to apply most of my liquid foundations. It never leaves any creases or foundation streaks. I also love the fact that the bristles are soft! I can always count on this brush to get the job done. Here is an affordable alternate brush I recommend.
- Luxie Jadey Wadey Nose Contour Perfector // As a high-end brush, I can definitely say that this was worth the investment. Everyone wants the perfect contoured nose but in order to achieve that – you need the right tool to do so. This is it, my friends. There is no other tool I use besides this! One side to apply the dark bronzer and the other side to blend it out to your liking. It’s a 2-in-one brush and I am done in less than 45 seconds.
- Color Switch brush cleaner // I saw these at a local TJ Maxx and I thought how unique this was that I had to try! When I am filming, it’s always a hassle when going from one eyeshade to another – using multiple brushes. This cleaner makes it easier to clean the brush to quickly transition to using a different eye color shade. I find that it works best with neutral and light-pastel eyeshadows but I definitely love this for those mornings I am in a rush. It’s very convenient while you’re in the middle of applying makeup.
- Shadow Shields // Another well thought out invention that I never knew I needed until I finally tried it out myself. No more eyeshadow fallouts! I always start with eyes first before applying makeup on the rest of my face, so these shields won’t interfere with my undereye concealer. It’s a great tool to prevent fallout and acts as a really useful guide for eyeshadow and winged liner!
- All In One Real Techniques Brush // This tool is perfect to apply blushes and bronzers. It’s my go-to to contour my face and I use the color switch and then change the setting on the brush and add a hint of blush to my cheeks. It’s great for on-the-go, creams and blushes. My makeup routine is much more simplified when using this tool – it saves time changing brushes.
