To be transparent with you, my skin does a complete 180 from the first three seasons of the year. Winter air causes my skin to appear dry, cracked, and irritated. But I honestly feel like that happens to most of us.
If there is one thing I have learned over the past years is that I need to be very choosey when it comes to buying products. Especially for dry and irritated skin.
The beauty products I am mentioning in this post are indeed-AFFORDABLE. It definitely won’t cost you an arm and a leg to purchase them but the best part is that if you deal with dry skin during the winter season, these products will be a huge game-changer for you!

Skincare
an important part to your daily routine is skin care!! here are my favorite items that gives me hydrating results and also has many other skin benefits!
- L’Oreal Pure-Sugar face exfoliator // Having a good face exfoliator is super important for removing previous dead cells, allowing the pores to absorb nutrients. I use this 2x a week and ever since my skin feels so much softer and any existing dry patches prior to using this is gone. Nourished skin is the best skin!!
- Glossier moon mask // If you don’t use a mask, let me put you on this! There is nothing that feels better than adding a mask to your self-care routine. It feels rejuvenating and honestly, it’s an important part of skincare you don’t want to skip. I use this mask once a week. Maybe twice – depends on how dry my skin is. This mask is hydrating, soothing, and conditioning for your face. The consistency is very creamy and it also is great for mature skin to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
- CeraVe hydrating facial cleanser // With dry skin, you have to have a hydrating facial cleanser. Using anything other than a hydrating cleanser would be too drying and could add more harm than good. That is why I use this one because it hydrates, restores the protective skin barrier, and of course-takes off all of my makeup.
Makeup
I wanted to keep the makeup recommendations simple and only include the main makeup products that are very important for me to have in hand during wintertime. Just a FYI, these felt non-drying to my skin!
- ELF putty primer // Always a good rule of thumb to prime with a good primer that is NON-DRYING. If you haven’t tried this primer, you got to add this to your cart TODAY and find out what is up with all the hype!!
- Infallible 24-hour freshwear foundation // It’s important to have a good foundation that is not only long-lasting but is suitable for ALL skin types. Yes, all! Meaning, this foundation is great for dry skin! It’s a foundation I have mentioned about the past few years on my blog and honestly, I have nothing negative to say about it. It’s lightweight, breathable, hydrating, and lasts for HOURS!
- Maybelline dream radiant liquid foundation // Another favorite foundation of mines is the dream radiant foundation by Maybelline. I love that it is formulated with hyaluronic acid and collagen. This means using this foundation will give you constant hydration for hours!! For all of my acne-prone people reading this, this product is known to not clog your pores.
- ELF camouflage hydrating concealer // Another must-have for dry skin is to find a hydrating concealer! This is super pigment – literally a small amount goes a LONG way. This is my latest go-to concealer and I definitely plan to use it throughout the cold winter season to prevent dry patches around my eyes.
Hygiene
certain body washes can be too drying on the skin. olay is my go-to all year long and as of recent i discovered a few specific items that are the best and i mean, the best to combatting dry skin!!
- Olay body conditioner // If you don’t want to apply a moisturizer you can skip that step by applying this olay body conditioner after your body wash. Just like a moisturizer, it stops dry skin before it starts!
- Olay body wash with B3 complex // It’s the only body wash I use all year long! Olay has many other great alternatives but I like the one with the B3 complex included. I’ve noticed firmness in my skin and long-lasting hydration.
- Treehut coco colada // This is my go-to exfoliator to scrub all of the dry and dead skin off to promote new cell growth. I exfoliate my legs before I shave to prevent razor bumps and ingrown hairs. Treehut has soooo many scents and I currently loving the coco colada scent. I recommend doing this at least twice a week!
Intense Moisturizers
a good moisturizer is a must have during all seasons! here are my must haves!!
- Laneige lip sleeping mask // Enriched with vitamin C and antioxidants! If you don’t have a good lip mask, you gotta invest in this one! I hate dry and chapped lips during the wintertime. It’s a huge pet peeve of mine because dry lips mean a constant need of wanting to lick it – which makes it worse. This lasts a very long time and leaves my lips supple and nourished.
- CeraVe Moisturizing Cream // Includes 4 amazing ingredients – Ceramides 1, 3, 6-II, and hyaluronic acid to help retain skin’s moisture. Lasted me a year so far. A little of this cream goes a long way and it’s nonscented and guarantees 24 hours of lasting hydration!
- Lanolips Versatile ointment // Want something that is on-the-go and is fully versatile?! Grab this!! Just like on the website, “All Lano products contain the signature hero ingredient, the world’s best lanolin to treat + cure dry lips and skin.”
- CeraVe healing ointment // This is for chapped and chafed skin. Sometimes, you need something stronger than just lotion, and this healing ointment is a miracle worker. It is non-greasy which is wonderful and is formulated with the same ingredients as the CeraVe moisturizing cream.
- Aveeno Skin relief // For all of my Aveeno brand lovers – I had to include this intense skin relief moisture repair cream. I’ve always love Aveen because of how soft my skin feels after applying their products. It “prevents moisture loss and helps restore your skin’s moisture barrier, and is clinically shown to deliver intense hydration for 24 hours.” It’s instant results! If you have extra dry skin – this is it right here.
I really think if you have at least one or two products of each section above – you will keep dry skin at bay this winter season! No one should have to suffer from that. You should definitely choose products that give you results and benefit your skin! Like I said before – hydrating skin is the best skin to have.
